Members of our SJA ISAIAH core team turned out for a prayer vigil at a local CarHop location recently, to call for reform in the sub-prime auto loan market. We heard from customers who could not repay their loans after interest payments ballooned, and we stood with more than 75 people of faith in attendance from ISAIAH congregations to demand change. We are also targeting payday lenders in Minnesota who charge up to 276% interest on short term loans, trapping low income people in a cycle of debt. Stay tuned for ways you can act with us, particularly during the next legislative session, as we act and pray for justice in our state.
To keep up on the ISAIAH issues, we provide a link to their newsletters on our SJA ISAIAH web page, found under Peace & Justice Ministries.
