Sunday, July 29: A Kick-Off Celebration! 12:30pm potluck lunch in SJA’s Hospitality Hall. Bring a summer salad to share! We will honor the leaders who began SJA EcoSpirits and welcome you to join us on the journey forward for environmental justice. RSVP to Elaine. 

Monday, July 30: Sacred Lands Tour with Healing Minnesota Stories:  This powerful experience is led by Rev. Jim Bear Jacobs, Mohican Indian American. The tour will start at 10am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church and from there we will carpool to the sites we visit. We will return to St. Peter's to conclude the day at 2pm. Bring a picnic lunch. A free will offering will be collected to support the work of Healing MN Stories and there is a $5 state park entrance fee if you don't have a sticker.  Space is limited – RSVP to Elaine. Healing MN Stories provides opportunities to create understanding and healing between people of faith and American Indian people who call Minnesota their home. RSVP to Elaine Gaston at outofbox [at]

Tuesday, July 31 (rsvp to Elaine for any events you can attend): 

  • Where Does Our Garbage Go? Meet at Eureka Recyling Center for an engaging and interactive tour and discussion, beginning at 11am. Space is limited.
  • Lunch at Gandhi Mahal Restaurant: Join us between 12:30 and 1pm for lunch (buy your own) and a brief presentation from restaurant staff on the innovations at this award-winning local restaurant dedicated to environmental responsibility. 
  • Small Changes Add Up to Big Impact: We are so looking forward to this event!  We’ll begin with a light meal at 5:30pm in Hospitality Hall (free will offering will be collected), followed by break-out sessions led by fellow SJAers on topics including Reducing Toxic Chemicals in Your Home; Fashion and the Environment; Home Composting; Safe Water; The Electric Car; and Faith in Democracy: Acting on Our Faith for Climate Justice. Meet great people and learn some changes you can make today

Wednesday, August 1: Movie Night: HAPPENING: A Clean Energy Revolution  in Hospitality Hall. Potluck at 5:30pm; movie to follow. We end our 4 days with hope and resolve with this award-winning film that documents how the clean energy revolution is already well underway.  It profiles inspiring citizens, business leaders and politicians leading the charge, and you will leave ready to join the clean energy revolution!
