We recently awarded Justice Grants from the SJA Outreach Fund. We awarded 19 grants totaling $97,000 to 19 nonprofit organizations and projects in which our SJA parishioners are committed volunteers and leaders.
This was an incredible round of applicants, and we are proud to have the entire list available for you after mass in the Welcome Center. These grants will serve in our SJA neighborhood, at the U.S. southern border, in prisons and detention centers, in schools, and in homeless shelters.
Our grants will feed hungry people around the world and will provide beds to children moving from homelessness into permanent housing in our own city. Our grants will help forge connections with isolated LGBT people, and will contribute to the work for reform in our church. This truly is the good news, and we are grateful to our Outreach Fund donors and to all parishioners involved in this process and in these organizations.
