The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, or OCIA, is an important Sacrament designed for adults (called Candidates) who are interested in becoming Catholic, or for Catholics who wish to be Confirmed, and may also include the Rite of Baptism. Each candidate is paired with an individual sponsor who will accompany them through this unique faith journey. OCIA consists of a cycle of classes from fall to spring, headed up by Fr. Jim DeBruycker and the OCIA team. OCIA meets bi-weekly on Wednesday evenings from fall through spring; weekly through Lent, with two Sunday morning commitments. The Sacraments of Initiation and Rite of Reception occur at Easter Vigil. The first meeting is Oct 8. FFI or to volunteer to be a sponsor, contact Cynthia Bailey Manns.
