Housing Ministry
The St. Joan of Arc Housing Ministry envisions a
future where everyone has safe, affordable and dignified housing. This is the
right of every child of God. Our work involves direct service and advocacy with
our partner organizations.
St.
Joan of Arc is a member congregation of the Beacon Interfaith Housing
Collaborative. Beacon is a developer of affordable housing as well as an
organizing vehicle for people of faith to stand up for investments in housing
and services to those who are homeless. We are grateful to our parishioner
leadership team for being our beacon for housing justice!
Join Us:
- Serve with fellow parishioners and with other congregations in the Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative to advocate for new affordable housing construction in cities and neighborhoods where we live. Help us urge our local and state
legislators to invest adequately in affordable housing and in services
to people experiencing homelessness. Join our action alert email list,
visit a supportive housing complex, attend a city council meeting or
contact your legislators to show support for the creation of more
affordable, supportive housing across the seven county metro area.
In addition, through our SJA Outreach Fund, we award Justice Grants to
housing organizations in our cities in which our parishioners are volunteers
and leaders, and our CARE Committee serves households in need of emergency
financial assistance for housing and utilities.
