Downtown Minneapolis Coalition for Grief support

Founded in 1997, the Downtown Minneapolis Coalition for Grief Support is a unique non-profit resource to help Twin Cities adults deal with the death of a child, family member, friend, spouse, or partner. The group is managed entirely by volunteers and trained facilitators.

The Downtown Coalition for Grief Support holds weekly Saturday meetings that are free and open to the public, regardless of religious affiliation. The meetings provide a safe, understanding environment for grief education, comfort, and recovery. Click here for the schedule and location. 

Youth Grief Support

Brighter Days Family Grief Center offer a free grief support series for youth ages 4-17, and their parents/caregivers. Brighter Days offers a free, evidence-based, and trauma-informed program led by trained staff and volunteers. Activities are hands-on and age-appropriate, and each week focuses on a specific topic. While the children are meeting, the adults are invited to attend an educational class about how to best support their grieving child or a support group specific to their loss.
