Today we mark All Saints Day and All Souls Day, remembering those we love who have gone before us, and those on whose shoulders we stand in our faith and in our work for justice. We give thanks for the communion of saints who accompany us in our journey. Our premass reading is taken from the words of Richard Hendrick's For All Souls Day and the reflections of Choctaw elder & retired Episcopalian Bishop Steven Charleston.
Musically, we welcome the SJA Choir with Richard Kriehn, Anya Menk & Carin Vagle to honor those who have gone before us. Come By Here, a traditional spiritual of the Gullah community, will invite us to be in God's presence in our waking, loving, grieving, hoping, longing and praising - just as our ancestors did.
Fr. Cassidy presides.
