Parish Book Club

Parish Book Club

The purpose of the Parish Book Club is to build community through the shared experience of great stories – and we do just that on the second Wednesday of most months.  We start with a social half hour at 6 pm and then a 6:30-8 pm facilitated discussion of the monthly book selection.  We meet in the Arc* (on the north side of 45th Street across from the parking lot).   Everyone is welcome any time. Our books are chosen by surveying the group. We recommend joining our email group.  Please email Lucy Petermeier,  lpetermeier@comcast.net,  to join the email group.

Current Selections:
May 14: "The Library Book" by Susan Orlean - Cathy Anhut will facilitate
June 11: Book Reports meeting, where each participant will share about a book or two they’ve read that doesn't qualify for our voting (i.e. not popular enough to have 10+ copies in the library system) but that they would recommend. Judy will facilitate
July 9: "There There" by Tommy Orange - Lucy will facilitate
September 10: "The Crane Husband" by Kelly Barnhill Mpls based author, may be joining us - Colleen will be part facilitator
October 8: "Neither Wolf nor Dog" by Kent Nerburn - Elaine will facilitate
November 12: "Between Two Kingdoms" by Suleika Jaouad - Cathy Anhut will facilitate

Our December book will be chosen by the group at a later date.
