Antiracist Church

Building an Antiracist Church

The vision of the St. Joan of Arc Antiracism ministry is that we will become an intentional antiracist faith community actively working to dismantle racism in ourselves, our church, and the larger world. As we and our parish move on the continuum from “welcoming diversity” to becoming actively antiracist, we challenge and sustain one another on this communal journey of faith.

Join us:

  • Explore with us the history and racist practices of our church and Minnesota, and learn about the longstanding work of antiracism in our own St. Joan of Arc neighborhood.
  • Get on our email list to hear about upcoming opportunities and resources for anti-racist learning and action with the SJA community. We send out emails 2-3 times/month, and you can always unsubscribe. Click here to subscribe.
  • Join one of our parish events – we offer education and training on topics including white privilege, cultural humility and the illusion of race. We meet monthly for discussion, and to share action opportunities.
  • Enjoy an outing with us to celebrate artistic and cultural expressions of antiracism – join us for viewing movies or theater presentations. In the past we have viewed movies “Just Mercy”, “Harriet” and “Thirteenth”; visited the Minneapolis African American Heritage Museum; taken in shows at Penumbra, Pillsbury Neighborhood Theatre, the Guthrie, and Blackout Improv Comedy.
