Welcome the Stranger

Welcome the Stranger

Grounded in God’s assurance that we are all one human family, our St. Joan of Arc Welcome the Stranger ministry provides education, action, and advocacy opportunities to better welcome and partner with immigrants, refugees, and asylees in our community, and partner with other organizations that serve them.

Join Us:

  • Attend our regular meeting on the second Monday of the month at 7pm, when we hear from leaders in the community and update each other on current activities and opportunities. Contact Julie Madden for more information.
  • Come to one of our parish events. We offer educational speakers, movies, and programs on topical immigration subjects.
  • Engage directly with one of our volunteer opportunities. We offer accompaniment to individuals and families seeking asylum, advocate for comprehensive immigration reform, attend vigils of prayer and worship, serve as immigration court observers, correspond with detainees, and more.
  • Travel with us on a delegation to the U.S./Mexico border, another area of the U.S., or Central America.
