ISAIAH

The St Joan of Arc ISAIAH Ministry is part of a network of more than 90 Minnesota congregations from Rochester to St. Cloud working to transform the world through racial and economic justice. Through community organizing and issue advocacy, ISAIAH empowers people of faith to act on local, regional and national issues that lie at the heart of building just and healthy communities. Our efforts are founded on shared faith values and collaboration with SJA parishioners, the greater ISAIAH organization and the broader community. Current activities of ISAIAH are highlighted in the ISAIAH's Prophetic Resistance E-NEWS.

The core values through which we view our work:

  • ACTION: Act with a bias toward driving legislative change
  • PRESENCE: Be a vital and growing presence at St. Joan of Arc and in the community
  • POWER: Build collective power via relationships and community, with an emphasis on SJA parishioner engagement
  • FAITH: Deepen our personal and collective spirituality by living the values of our faith

Our key issues (around which our issue teams and legislative agenda are organized) are:  DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, EQUITABLE EDUCATION, FINANCIAL JUSTICE, IMMIGRATION REFORM, and SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORTATION.

How to become involved:

  • Attend a “get to know us” ISAIAH orientation meeting (calendar), held quarterly
  • Come observe our monthly core team meeting, held on the fourth Tuesday of every month (calendar)
  • Stop by our St Joan of Arc ISAIAH Legislative Advocacy Network tables for an Urgent Care Alert on the fourth Sunday of every month.
  • Participate in a social justice issue conversation or attend a related forum or event listed in the Sunday bulletin or on the parish calendar.  For a list of upcoming ISAIAH events, Click Here.
