St. Joan of Arc Parish Visitor Ministry provides companionship, emotional, prayerful and spiritual support by assisting those facing life challenges or transitions through personal connections. Whenever an individual is moved out of a normal sense of well-being, Parish Visitors are prepared to listen and to care; from the arrival of a new baby to the loss of a loved one, issues of sexual identity, loneliness, aging issues or other stresses
The Parish Visitor relationships are completely confidential and may vary from a few phone calls to on-going calls and personal visits over a few weeks or many months.
This quiet support is available to parishioners that cannot join us for worship or would like additional long or short term community support in the home, hospital, rehab or care center. If desired, prayer and communion are available.
Parish Visitors complete specialized training before beginning their lay ministry work. They engage in on-going reflection of their ministry and attend quarterly support and enrichment sessions.
