On Sunday, August 27, SJA hosted a service of prayer and music at the Lake Harriet Bandshell at 10am. We are one of a group of South Minneapolis faith communities that hosts this service weekly during the summer months.
For our SJA service, we asked SJA youth Clare Carroll to reflect on her experiences traveling to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation as a member of SJA's delegation. Clare also accompanied SJA youth leader Mary Turgeon to Standing Rock to be in solidarity with the water protectors there.
In this beautiful reflection, Clare shares her own spiritual journey, the lessons she has learned from native elders, and her challenge to all of us as we seek a different way of being in the world. Thank you, Clare, for your powerful witness. You can see the script for her talk here.
