Justice Grants Awarded This Month

This week, December 5, we awarded 8 grants of $5000 each to the following eight organizations. SJA parishioners are involved in all of these projects as volunteers and leaders.

Immigrant Law Center of MN: Our grant will support the Pro Bono Project, which trains volunteer attorneys to represent clients in immigration law. During 2020, 146 legal professionals donated more than 3,000 hours in service to ILCM clients.

L’Arche Twin Cities: Building a local, interfaith, intentional community where people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live and share daily live with those who are not disabled. This is a movement for radical inclusion.

Bridging: Everyone deserves to live in a furnished home. Bridging will offer a choice of quality donated furniture and household goods to more than 4500 local families this year.

Pass It On: Our grant will help to develop an emergency transitional home and services for at risk young men.

Centro Guadalupano: Based at Holy Rosary Church, Centro Guadalupano provides English language and literacy classes to new adult immigrants, as well as cultural and academic activities for children and youth.

Discerning Deacons: Engaging Catholics in the movement to restore women to the ministry of the diaconate.

From Mission to Mission: Assists people in integrating mission experiences into daily life and justice efforts.
