Second Sunday of Lent Family Masses

Second Sunday of Lent Family Masses

Second Sunday of Lent Family Masses
March 1
9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

On the Second Sunday of Lent, for the Gospel of the Transfiguration, Oscar Romero, liberation theologist, tells the story of how his vision cleared and he saw God's true call to bring justice to his people. Thanks to our actor Riley Moynihan!

Our Lenten theme is Center Down—Rise Ready. We will practice Centering Down by rooting in God, stilling in prayer, resting from fear and hopelessness. Then we'll practice Rising Ready to act together for justice, working to heal our world with love. Each week families take home a small stone and a scroll including a short prayer, a cairn-building ritual, and an invitation to commit to one simple act of love for justice. Families build their cairn slowly— stone by stone—centering down as they let go of their burdens and rise renewed, ready for action.

At-Home Ritual
Gather together and place the stone in the center of your prayer space. Sit quietly for a few breaths. Read the week’s short prayer aloud. Name something you want to lay down or change. Place the stone on the cairn. Choose an action to live out together this week. Don’t miss any of our joyful Sundays during this holy season. And enjoy making your Lenten cairn together.
