Dreaming a World United
Camp St. Joan was started in 1999 by Pre-K Director Janet Brown. It was a great success and the camp has grown every summer since then. The mission of Camp St. Joan is to create a camp church experience that teaches peace through understanding via exploration of another culture. Our tag line is "We Dream a World United" and bring 150 campers, 40 teens, and 50 adult volunteers into the experience.
Beginning in February, the Camp St. Joan committee works together to develop, create and organize a 4 day experience about a new country to teach kids about being peacemakers. Camp is typically the 3rd week of July Monday through Thursday, and wraps up Thursday evening with a family celebration of food, music and sharing what was learned throughout the week.
We look for volunteers who are willing to explore another culture via the eyes of children. If this is you, contact bbarnard [at] stjoan.com (subject: Camp%20St.%20Joan) (Brooke Barnard )at Saint Joan of Arc.
