Mark your calendar – and note that it’s earlier this year - for Saint Joan Of Arc Cabaret, Friday, October 7th & Saturday, October 8th and the newly added ”Sunday Show" on October 9th at 7 p.m.
Serving Up More Than Music
This year’s Friday’s and Saturday’s Cabaret shows will feature a catered dinner menu, refreshments, round-table seating and plenty of entertainment included in the $75 price. “The Sunday Show,” is all about the music, with concert-style general admission seating and $30 tickets. Ticket sales begin Saturday, August 27 starting at 11:00 a.m. in the Saint Joan of Arc Gym, 4537 Third Ave. S, Minneapolis.
“We added the “The Sunday Show” last year because we didn’t want to lock out people who can’t afford the $75 ticket for Friday’s and Saturday’s shows or couldn’t get tickets because they sell out so fast.” - George Maurer
Each night the performers will be backed by the Saint Joan of Arc band, featuring composer and pianist George Maurer; former New Power Generation keyboard player Tommy Barbarella; and pianist extraordinaire and long-time Cabaret host Dan Chouinard, plus current and former members of the Chanhassen Dinner Theaters orchestra and “A Prairie Home Companion’s” The Guy’s All-Star Shoe Band.
Cabaret raises more than $100,000 each year and has brought in over $1.5 million for Saint Joan of Arc’s parish programs and ministries. Each year a group of parishioners volunteer their time to help make Cabaret happen. This year our goal for Cabaret is to raise $120,000.
How We Use The Funds
The funds raised at Cabaret go to underwrite the 90 plus ministries of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Community. We believe strongly in programs and ministries that serve the poor, marginalized, isolated, alienated and suffering. Our ministries live out our commitment to “Welcome You Wherever You Are on Your Journey” – and we mean it. Some will tell you that a visit to St.Joan of Arc was the last stop on their search for a worshipping community that accepted them for who and what they are. They came here on a Sunday morning and they have been here for years. If you are looking for a spiritual home we hope you will visit us and enjoy the joy-filled experience of Sunday at SJA.
“This is a Catholic parish that already is unique with the way we approach music on Sunday, but also unique in the way we reach out to the Twin Cities.”
Cabaret - A Unique Show Every Night
Cabaret sells out year after year and is known for showcasing the very best Twin Cities musical talent. This year our music directors – Maurer, Barbarella and Chouinard – have put together a unique lineup of talent for each evening that includes some of the Twin Cities – and beyond – most well-known and respected performers.
“This show is probably unlike any gathering of musician you will find together on one stage in the Twin Cities”

Cabaret - Getting Closer To Zero Waste
Last year’s Cabaret was another great year for our Saint Joan of Arc Eco Spirit team working toward making Cabaret a zero waste event. We managed to recycle 97% of our total waste with a total of 1,054 pounds of trash collected and 1,019 pounds of it composted, reused or recycled, leaving just 35 pounds or 3% as trash!
We collected 284 pounds of compost materials including paper plates, napkins, tooth picks, compostable drinking cups and forks made from corn and food. We recycled the glass in 435 pounds of beer and wine bottles and along with 6 pounds of corks which were reused in children art projects and well as three rounds of bottle caps. Over 154 pounds of aluminum from beer and soda cans were recycled. We also recycled 108 pounds of cardboard, 9 pounds of plastic bags and 21 pounds of plastic containers.
We take Zero Waste seriously.
