ISAIAH

SJA ISAIAH is part of a network of more than 90 congregations in the Twin Cities and St. Cloud working to transform the world through racial and economic justice. ISAIAH seeks to empower people to act on local, regional and national issues that lie at the heart of building just and healthy communities. Our efforts will be founded on shared faith values and collaboration with SJA parishioners, the greater ISAIAH organization and the broader community.

ISAIAH is one of 60 similar organizations around the country affiliated with the Gamaliel Foundation in Chicago.

The lens through which we view our work—our core values:

  • ACTION: Act with a bias toward driving legislative change
  • PRESENCE: Be a vital and growing presence at St. Joan of Arc and in the community
  • POWER: Build collective power via relationships and community, with an emphasis on SJA parishioner and youth engagement
  • FAITH: Deepen our personal and collective spirituality by living the values of our faith

We organize the larger SJA community to participate in collective action, public dialogue, and prayer to resolve systemic injustice.

How to become involved:

  • Attend a “get to know us” ISAIAH orientation meeting (calendar), held quarterly
  • Come observe our monthly team meeting, held on the fourth Tuesday of every month (calendar)
  • Participate in a social justice issue conversation or attend a related forum or event listed in the Sunday bulletin, the parish calendar or sign up for the the ISAIAH mailing list. Send a letter to the editor of local newspapers or contact your legislators about a social justice issue that speaks to you in support of ISAIAH team efforts.
