On Saturday, June 28, over 100 members of St. Joan of Arc journeyed to the Minneapolis Convention Center, where they joined over a thousand ISAIAH members to “Bind the Covenant” with each other “to stand with all who seek an economy that serves human dignity and freedom, racial equity in our schools and in our democracy, and investments in whole and healthy communities.”
Faith heroes from churches around the Twin Cities spoke of their struggles with joblessness, foreclosure, medical bills, school suspensions, and losing their car because of the lack of a driver’s license. New ISAIAH member churches from the Hispanic and Black communities joined the other churches to launch the Prophetic Voter Campaign. The campaign will focus on letting Governor Dayton and other elected and appointed officials know that ISAIAH will be campaigning to bring about a Minnesota where all people, families, and communities are treated with human dignity.
SJA's effort to turn out voters for the midterm elections will begin on Sunday, July 20, at a gathering in the Parish Center after 11:00 a.m. Mass. All are invited and welcome to join us!
