Pre-Mass: John Bauer

Sunday, February 26, 2017 -
11:00am to 12:00pm

We thank our SJA Mental Health Ministry for bringing John Bauer to us as a guest speaker.  John lost his adult daughter to suicide and as he journeyed through his grief he created “What’s Left”, a multimedia art exhibit that spurs a proactive dialogue on suicide and mental illness to break the stigma that surrounds it.
Our speical music is by trumpeter Charles Lazarus. Join us!

More on John...
John Bauer is a lifelong resident of Grand Rapids and Development Director and Friday Morning Show co-host for KAXE/KBXE, Northern Community Radio. He is also the head women’s basketball at Itasca Community College, an avid golfer and photographer. John lost his daughter Megan to suicide in 2013 and since then has curated, along with the Macrostie Art Center in Grand Rapids, a state-wide traveling art exhibit entitled What’s Left: Lives Touched By Suicide, which features art from over 50 of Minnesota’s finest artists as a means of breaking the stigma surrounding suicide and mental illness. More at whatsleftmn.com
