We had a wonderful and full day today, Saturday. We began with a joint meeting of the Sister Parish Committees; our delegates shared the many programs they have initiated in Tierra Nueva II through the support and encouragement of SJA. We then headed off to the Immigration Rally at Guardian Angels Church in Chaska where the stories of some of our undocumented citizens were shared and ministers and bishops of many faith traditions were there in solidarity for the Path to Citizenship initiative.
The afternoon included a 3 hour retreat where we came together and reflected on who in our lives have impacted us most in our spiritual journey, who we can impact spiritually and also reflected on scripture; how we are not to worry about tomorrow for today’s worries are sufficient for today – but seek first God’s kingdom and his righteousness. How beautiful to hear the perspective of our brothers and sisters in Guatemala. For all of us, it was a call to live more deeply today.
Each day the 6 delegates have a time for reflection; today’s reflection was building the talks to be given at the Sunday Liturgies. After which, they went home to spend the evening with their host families.
As Yoli said; “Today was a beautiful day” …. And so it was.
