The St. Joan of Arc Housing Ministry (SJAHM) mission is to create affordable housing for people in need. We serve those who are low income, homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. There is a preference to work with single parent families with children.
SJAHM partners. and combines resources with organizations that engage the SJA community in advocacy, direct services and charity.
We welcome volunteers with any skill! Working with SJAHM, you might find yourself…
Working on an affordable housing project as either a skilled or unskilled worker with Urban Homeworks
Providing a Saturday lunch for the SJA construction volunteers
An ombudsman and personal mentor during the bi-annual Project Homeless Connect, the one stop county-wide effort to address the needs of the homeless and help them access comprehensive services at the Minneapolis Convention Center
Becoming a member of the Housing Leadership Team providing direction to the parish's housing efforts
As an overnight volunteer at the St. Stephen's Shelter
Fundraising: Creating affordable housing is a challenging and costly endeavor where creative volunteers are always appreciated
