On Ash Wednesday, more than 40 members of the Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Community traveled to the State Capitol for an incredible day that kicked off ISAIAH's 40 Days of Prophetic Vigil this Lenten season. ISAIAH is a collaborative of more than 100 metro area congregations working together for social, racial and economic justice and each day during Lent, a different congregation will be present at the Capitol. Following a brief training, teams visited legislators, sharing their stories and visions for a just and equitable community for all. Those attending said it was so empowering and exciting to be part of the process of democracy in action! Every elected official with whom they met was expressed gratitude for the visits and assured the ISAIAH representatives that there is no more effective way to advocate for our values than by building these relationships with legislators.
