Saint Joan of Arc Members Join Rally on Gun Violence
On Monday, Feb. 18, SJAers joined voices with hundreds of fellow Minnesotans concerned about gun violence in a powerful rally at the State Capitol Rotunda.
Organized by Protect Minnesota (www.protectmn.org), the rally was held to urge action from the Minnesota legislature to require background checks before all gun sales. The goal is to remove weapons of war from our streets. Here at St. Joan of Arc we were joined recently by Sami Rahamim, whose father was the owner of Accent Signage in Northeast Minneapolis and who died with six others in a workplace shooting there in September. Sami has become an incredible advocate on this issue, and we are grateful to him for inspiring many to join him in his work with Protect MN. Our thanks also to the SJA parishioners who are leading our community on this effort. We pray for a future of true safety and security for all Minnesotans.
