Family Mass in the Church

Family Mass

Sundays 9:45 am and 11:45 am in the Church from September – Mid-May
Sundays 9 am in the Church Mid-May
 June

While parents attend the Liturgy of the Word in the Gym, children in grades one through six participate in religious education classes where they receive the Gospel message in a variety of unique and creative ways. After the homily in the Gym, parents join their children in the Church for the family-centered, joyful Family Mass.

As the children gather around the altar, they might have a special visit from Joan of Arc, St Francis or Gandhi; watch a playlet about Our Lady of Guadalupe; meet a shepherdess who just witnessed the Transfiguration; or learn about a meaningful community service.  All “messengers” come to deliver God’s word in terms the children can understand.

Family Mass includes weekly food collections for Sabathani Community Center, Advent and Lenten family programs and the Jesse Tree collection of holiday gifts. Twice annually, we gather together to volunteer with Feed My Starving Children

Integrating our Sunday Mass with religious education classes inspires young people to be excited about their spiritual lives and empowers families to carry these values into their daily lives. This unique liturgy is designed for children and their families, but welcoming to all.
